It seems like everyone is the JJ Abrams business these days and for NBC, which has struggled introducing new shows over the past few years is now officially in the JJ Abrams business.

In a story from Variety, NBC has canceled My Own Worst Enemy. The show had only shot 9 episodes of its initial 13-episode order.
Apparently the show just never gained traction or appeal with audiences. When it aired on Oct. 27, the show
“averaged 5.2 million viewers and 2.3 rating/6 share in adults 18-49.”

NBC has given the axe to Heroes, co-exec producers Jesse Alexander and Jeph Loeb, according to Variety.
Both writer-producers had been with the show since its first season and were known to have led the day-to-day production operation under the direction of creator/exec producer Tim Kring.
