So this has been rumored for sometime that Lost co-creator, Damon Lindelof, would develop the acclaimed fantasy series from Steven King. Now its coming out that he and his partner in crime, JJ Abrams, will not be adapting the acclaimed series.
In a story from MTV.com, Abrams had to say on the matter:

The first poster has been released for the upcoming Solomon Kane, starring James Purefoy and based on the story written by Robert E. Howard (Conan the Barbarian) in 1928. They premiered some footage at Comic-Con and like Kick-Ass! this is ptobably the second bit of stuff I wish I hadn’t missed from the con.
