Today Lionsgate has purchased Summit Entertainment for an estimated $712.5 million dollars, $412.5M equity plus an assumption of $300 million of debt. South by Southwest (SXSW) has selected Lionsgate’s The Cabin in the Woods as its opening night film on March 9, marking the world premiere for the Joss Whedon scripted and produced horror vehicle.
