Darren Aronofsky’s biblical epic Noah couldn’t be any more highly anticipated amongst the film community. And with good reason, the movie would implement some of the greatest storytelling and an opportunity for Aronofsky to create a world. Now the movie is about to get more interesting as Aronofsky is considering adding Russell Crowe and Liam Neeson to the cast of the movie. Deadline was the first to report on this.

While Christian Bale was one of the top actors being courted for a role in the movie, the budget for Noah is north of $100 million, and Bale is already tied to a few Terrance Malick films. So in the end it makes sense that Russell Crowe be approached for a role in the movie. Given that Crowe has already appeared as a sea captain in Master and Commander, the actor has the presence to command a ship as massive as the Ark.

But what does Liam Neeson have to do with this. Well the site adds that Liam Neeson could be approached for a villain role in the movie. Remember this will not be the telling of Noah everyone is familiar with. In fact the movie’s script inspired a graphic novel, which you can use as a reference to see what kind of world Aronofsky will try to create. Paramount Pictures and New Regency will distribute the movie.

Thanks in part to Liam Neeson’s stellar performance; The Grey is currently standing on a 80% fresh rating at rottentomatoes.com. Quite a rare accomplishment considering movies released in January mean a death sentence to those associated with it. And Considering that everyone is talking about Neeson’s performance, its director Joe Carnahan says that the movie may make a return to theaters in October for an Oscar run.

Thinking that far ahead? Isn’t that a bit presumptuous Not really. Remember the film is coming out this weekend. A nine month gap is plenty of time to forget a movie like The Grey, not that I am saying it’s a bad movie, but there are plenty of movies that will have equally if not better performances in the coming months.

The director confirmed the news to The Playlist where he talked about the January release.
“Let’s ignore the fact that everybody says January’s a dumping ground. They make too many movies these days for any one month to be a dumping ground. Obviously Taken was a January release for Liam that did quite well. Honestly, it’s nice to even be mentioned, the idea that people even think it’s awards-worthy. That’s flattering. Open Road has said flat out and sort of scrawled it in blood that they’re going to release the film in October 2012 for a qualifying run, which is great.”

That makes a lot of sense and seems to validate why the movie needs to be rereleased in October for an Oscar run. I hope Open Road decides to move forward no matter how strong or weak The Grey’s performance is at the box office this weekend.

A new red band trailer for Joe Carnahan’s survivalist thriller The Grey, starring Liam Neeson, has just debut online (via Break). The movie features Neeson as a security specialist who leads a band of oil-rough necks through the harsh Alaskan wilderness after they survived a horrific plane crash. Be warned, not only is the trailer full or blood and gore, it also has some coarse language. So if you or any one around you are offended by either, then wait to watch the trailer at home.

Check out the new red-band trailer for Joe Carnahan’s The Grey.

The Grey stars Liam Neeson, Frank Grillo, Dermot Mulroney, Dallas Roberts, Joe Anderson, James Badge Dale and Nonso Anozie. The movie opens in theaters on January 27th.

Following the release of the theatrical trailer for Joe Carnahan’s The Grey, Starring Liam Neeson, AMC theaters has just unveiled a 90 second TV spot promoting the movie. That’s right a 90 second TV spot for The Grey. So buckle up and see if your survival skills are up to par with Liam Neeson’s. The trailer doesn’t reveal any new material, but it does show all the elements from the previous ones. So if the cold dark Alaskan wilderness is something you are interested in, then The Grey is the movie you want to watch.

Watch the latest TV spot for Joe Carnahan’s The Grey below.

The Grey definitely looks like a fun popcorn movie. And while the set pieces are the true stars of the film, I have my doubts about Liam Neeson fighting a bunch of wolves made from ones and zeros.

Directed by Carnahan, The Grey stars Liam Neeson, Frank Grillo, Dermot Mulroney, Dallas Roberts, Joe Anderson, James Badge Dale and Nonso Anozie.

In the film, opening January 27, Neeson leads an unruly group of oil-rig roughnecks when their plane crashes into the remote Alaskan wilderness. Battling mortal injuries and merciless weather, the survivors have only a few days to escape the icy elements – and a vicious pack of rogue wolves on the hunt – before their time runs out. Watch the first two trailers for The Grey here.

Watch the "Wrath of the Titans" Trailer Right Now!

It is that time of year again where we are getting bombarded with trailers for movies 6 months out. We will be getting a first trailer for Prometheus on Thursday while you have probably already seen the full trailer for The Dark Knight Rises. Now take a look at the first full trailer for the Clash of the Titans sequel, Wrath of the Titans. The first film seemed like a giant mess, little-loved by any critics and not latched on to by big audiences. Still Warner Brothers thought it was successful enough for a sequel in hopes for another March, big budget spectacle. The first trailer for that sequel has gone online at Apple– yes, just minutes after the trailer for The Dark Knight Rises, and from the same studio no less– and you can watch it there in HD or embedded below. Wrath of the Titans opens March 30 next year.

Some people might think that the Wrath of the Titans looks better than the original and while at first glance it does but the trailer doesn’t really give us any story. It is just more mythological baddies, a hot new love interest and Liam Neeson sporting his awesome beard sans the glowy armor. I’ll be interested to see what director, Jonathan Liebesman (Battle: Los Angeles), taking over from the original film’s director Louis Leterrier, might be bringing to the franchise that’s new. This trailer looks a smidgen less silly than the first film but still seems like it is playing with the same board as the first movie. The movie doesn’t have Gemma Arterton in it either, so that is automatic points off in my book.

Now I am convinced Peter Berg went into Michael Bay’s office and took/stole/swept left over Transformers material to make Battleship. Just look at it. The movie just gushes Transformers. And if you are advertising that the movie takes place on the Pacific Ocean, then whats up with all the shots on Hawaii. Yes it’s a beautiful place, but that last time I checked, a Battleship was meant for water use. We’ve already seen the first trailer for the movie, but this new one doesn’t give me any hope that Battleship will be any good. In fact likes like the bizarro version of all three Transformers movies.

Last time I played Battleship, I remember it was all about sinking the enemy ship. Not an alien one. And I still can’t get over Rihanna’s voice in this trailer. Is she trying to be an Asian, a Pirate, or is that her natural voice.

Peter Berg (Hancock) produces and directs Battleship, an epic-scaled action-adventure that unfolds across the seas, in the skies and over land as our planet fights for survival against a superior force. Inspired by Hasbro’s classic naval combat game, Battleship stars Taylor Kitsch as Lt.

Perseus is back and he intends to kill whatever gets in his way by means of dual tridents. But I think his victim will die laughing first. Okay I will give our first look at Wrath of the Titans a break, it is a first look. Entertainment Weekly has provided our very first image from the sequel to Clash of the Titans, which bombed but somehow still got a sequel ordered, with a third supposedly already in the works. The movie is directed by Jonathan Liebesman of Battle: LA.

Thanks to Collider (via Firstshowing) for our first look at Wrath of the Titans.

What is most interesting about the image is actually not the image itself, but the text to the left of it. Apparently the two tridents our hero is holding is of great importance and is just one of “several celestial weapons Perseus has to bring together ‘in order to create an uber-weapon,’” says director Jonathan Liebesman. That is about the only detail for the movie we have to go on for now. We also know that Hades kidnaps Zeus and that Perseus must save his father from the lord of the undead. A teaser trailer for the movie could be right around the corner, it is due for release in four months, but for now, we just have this one image.

Aside from Worthington, Wrath of the Titans stars Edgar Ramírez, Toby Kebbell, Bill Nighy, Rosamund Pike, with Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes reprising. The movie was shot in 3D and is due out for a March 30th, 2012 release. So are you interested in another story of battling Greek gods?

The Grey continues to look more promising with each and very new trailer or promotional image. When we last left Liam Neeson, he strapped his knuckles with broken bits of glass in one hand and had a knife and another. The survivalist movie from The A-Team Joe Carnahan pits man vs. nature. Now comes a new trailer that seems to profile Neeson’s character and the dark side of mother nature he will be facing.

Here’s the new trailer for Joe Carnahan’s The Grey from Moviefone:

While The Grey will undoubtedly be a great movie, there is a lot to be worried about after watching the trailer. Joe Carnahan can make an action movie, and there is no doubt that Neeson can take command of a movie like The Grey. But when the CGI wolves look soulless, its hard to believe that our characters are facing such adversity. Still the set pieces in The Grey look absolutely incredible, especially the plane wreckage being enveloped in snow. So hopefully this is enough to make the movie watchable.

In The Grey, Liam Neeson leads an unruly group of oil-rig roughnecks when their plane crashes into the remote Alaskan wilderness. Battling mortal injuries and merciless weather, the survivors have only a few days to escape the icy elements – and a vicious pack of rogue wolves on the hunt – before their time runs out.

The Grey stars Dallas Roberts, James Badge Dale, Dermot Mulroney, Frank Grillo, Nonso Anozie, and Joe Anderson. The movie opens in theaters January 27, 2012.

If there is one thing fans will appreciate about the first Star Wars Episode I; The Phantom Menace 3D trailer, that has just hit online, it’s that it lacks Jar Jar Binks. And even though we will still have to endure the half-wit gungan (well aren’t all of them half wits) in the first episode, we shouldn’t ignore the fact that there are still two more blasphemes Star Wars movies that follow after it. In spite of that, I am sure that this is the best way to approach this, as we won’t have to hear of these prequels for quite some time when the original episodes hit the big screen.

While 3D may be all the rage, I lack the technology (because Apple doesn’t have a 3D macbook) to view this trailer in the proper format. Still you have to like how Lucasfilms is marketing this movie, despite the backlash the prequels have been getting. It starts off with a tiny box filled with memorable scenes from the Star Wars trilogy and then explodes with pod racing, and what could only be described as (if you have 3D glasses) deep space.

So check out the trailer (via Collider) below

The music and the setting feel cold and add the sense of fear to it, and you’ve got a pretty gripping trailer. Using real locations and some awesome visuals, The Grey will hit theaters on January 27.

Universal Pictures has finally released the trailer for Peter Berg’s Battleship, the big-budget adaptation of the popular board game of the same name. The open-water film stars Alexander Skarsgard, Taylor Kitsch, Josh Pence, Brooklyn Decker, pop-star Rihanna, and Liam Neeson. It honestly looks like Berg was given all the unused clips from all the Transformers films and Pearl Harbor and mashed it all together to create Battleship. Universal really needs to get their priorties straightened out and realize that playing it safe may not be the best road to take. Based on audiences reactions, the studio would want to rethink not taking gambles like The Dark Tower or At the Mountains of Madness. Check out the awful trailer below. Thanks to Yahoo! Trailers for providing the trailer.
