About Us
“Fusing Hollywood With Film Fans and Beyond”
So there are directors, producers, studios and all the folks that make the movies. Same thing in television. There is also the people who watch them. the people who go to theater or watch countless hours of Tivo. We are the latter. Another interesting fact is we are not in LA, we are not “connected” in the inner-circles but in this digital age “connection” is a loose term. Fused Film is designed to fuse film fans and others to Hollywood and Beyond.
A connection and information hub we provide the latest (Film,TV, Entertainment) news, trailers, reviews, opinions, hype, buzz and everything else related to the movie going, tv watching experience straight from Hollywood to Film Fans and beyond. Its all southern fried infotainment straight from the Mid South to you.

Kevin is a film freak, just ask him something movie related and he lights up like a Christmas tree. Originally his destiny was to go to film school, hit LA and try and become the next big thing. Circumstances change but in college, he fell in love with writing. After several failed attempts in starting a legit and hip school online magazine for his university Kevin moved into the blogosphere for himself and began Kevin’s Rant which in 2007 morphed into Fused Film. Kevin has contributed articles on other sites like Geeks of Doom and FilmShaft, he has also been a guest on podcasts for MovieViral and The Film Feed at FS.Net. His favorite movie of all time is Empire Strikes Back, he loves his Chucks, he is an avid Stargate fan and classic rock is his music scene.

Will Melton is a super-genius with raw talent for creativity. A master’s degree in media communication, an academic talent (acing his thesis), he ponders philosophy and film. He once considered being a novelist and calls his Sunday morning trips to the cinema “his church.” Some of his previous works online were for Funny or Die. He loves to film and did some camera work for a guerilla-style documentary in a Post-Katrina Lower Ninth Ward; this included running from the cops. He hates politicians, loves counter-culture and is pretty much an all-around irreverent smart ass! A lover and fighter, this guy loves trash cinema in the vein of spaghetti westerns, Kung-Fu flicks, Yakuza crime thrillers, zombie flicks and weird avant-garde stuff. He will talk hyperreality with anyone while eating tacos and drinking beer. Will has penned four feature-length screenplays—none of which have earned him any acclaim, prestige, or money. He is addicted to coffee and Kentucky bourbon, wishes cigarettes were healthy, and has watched Garden State over 35 times because he’s obsessed with the existential metaphors and Natalie Portman. Once, he interviewed Sean Astin backstage at a John Kerry for President Rally while serving as news editor for his college paper, The Current. He wants to marry Shannon Elizabeth and Hostel 2 was the only horror movie ending that made him rethink his love for horror.

Vaughan Risher

Vaughan Risher graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a degree in film production, moved to Los Angeles and worked tirelessly in the film industry for several years while honing the craft of screenwriting. He learned about Hollywood and the business of making movies, as well as the tricky world of pitches, managers, and how to take a meeting.
Since then, the desire to write has remained strong, but so has the desire to design. After developing and nurturing his budding design talent, he left the film industry trenches and put his talent to use by becoming a full time graphic designer.
Fortunately, his profession still leaves room for writing screenplays and eventually led Vaughan to Fused Film, where he brings both his talents to bear with website graphics and the occasional film review or article.

Donnie V. is a personality like none other, he can sing opera, jazz, plays the piano and is an expert in seduction. He created an awkward moment once just to see what it felt like. He can speak German in fluent Spanish. He once survived a staring contest with Chuck Norris and afterwards they enjoyed a great game of ass kicking the neighboring Canada. He loves movies and he loves women but something tells us nothing will ever compare to how much he loves Jesus. Nuf said? I think not. An engineer by day and a EMT by night somehow he makes awesome happen. The New York Times calls him dashing, strangly familiar and that chubby guy who reminds us of James Bond played by Jason Segal. His favorite movies include Boondock Saints, Fight Club, Cry Baby and that movie where that dude does something really cool…ummm…the Matrix that’s right…the whole trilogy. Catch him on our weekly afterthoughts and much more.

Catharine Coll, aka - the Chic Geek, is a 21 year old graphic design major at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga. She loves movies just for the entertainment value not like Adam and Kevin who live, eat and breathe the stuff. Now when she watches movies and even the geeky ones she checks out the styles and hotness this is why she is the Chic Geek. She can talk Lord of the Rings while straightening her hair to look like Jessica Alba. She loves to shop and has contemplated a career out of it…anyone need a professional shopper because she is your woman.

Contributing Writers
Ken Smithart
Ken Smithart has been a movie critic for years…only recently has he actually found an audience. Previously his only audience was people he cornered after the movie (fortunately these were usually the people he came with.) He has a tendency to be more forgiving of movies if they “hit where they aim” as opposed to grading everything as if it were up for an award at Sundance. If it’s a cheesy, turn-off-your-brain-when-you-turn-off-your-cell-phone, popcorn movie, I don’t hold it to an unrealistic standard. One pet peeve is when the F/X folks don’t do their research and break the laws of physics (I’ll elaborate on that with an article later.) Ken is gearing up to begin his doctoral work in History beginning this fall in Texas.

Melissa Yearian
Melissa Yearian is a big fan of blood spray in 3-D. She also loves puppies and chocolate, but she spends most of her time watching people get brutally murdered on screen. A close friend once sent her a doll that looks like a cross between Wonder Woman and a Kewpie doll. It has a pot belly, and it has quickly become her personal heroine. She thinks everyone should understand why, say, Adrienne Barbeau kicks slightly more ass than Margot Kidder, but she understands that Barb from Black Christmas steals all young hearts. If she were to choose a horror heroine to become, she would, of course, choose Ellen Ripley (well, up until Alien Resurrection). She is an adamant believer that there are, in fact, only three Star Wars movies, and she is still mourning the loss of Battlestar Galactica. Was anyone sexier than President Roslin? In all seriousness, she is five seconds from graduating with an MFA in Creative Writing from the City College of New York, where she is also an Adjunct Lecturer.
