‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey’ Image: Martin Freeman Finds the Darkness in Mirkwood
The first trailer for Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey suggested that we would see a happy cheery movie about Bilbo Baggins and a thin shroud of darkness that would soon claim him. That darkness that could claim our would-be hero will have to face off against the likes of trolls, orcs, spiders and a giant dragon named Smaug. If that wasn’t enough there’s also the fact that Smegal is in the movie and a certain ring that drives everyone insane.
This new image from The Hobbit, appears to show the strenuous toll the journey has on Bilbo Baggins (played by Martin Freeman). Hopefully he is using the sword to stand upright and not looking down on his kill. But my guess is that it is the latter.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is scheduled to open December 14th, 2012.
