Matthew Lillard May Join Clint Eastwood in ‘Trouble with the Curve’

Seemingly disappearing off the Hollywood radar, Matthew Lillard has reemerged in movie theaters across the country appearing alongside George Clooney in The Descendants. Lillard’s resume doesn’t beg directors to bring him in for dramatic roles. But its thanks to a movie like The Descendants that could change all that. Sure he may have starred in the less than impressive Scooby-Doo movies, but now the actor is set to appear in Robert Lorenz’s new movie, Trouble with the Curve, with Adams and Clint Eastwood.

For those who haven’t been following updates on Trouble with the Curve, the film will follow an aging baseball scout (played by Clint Eastwood) whose eyesight is deteriorating. He attempts to reconnect with his daughter (played by Amy Adams) by bringing her along for one last scouting trip. According to Entertainment Weekly, Matthew Lillard is in talks to play as another baseball scout. But the report doesn’t mention if he will play as Eastwood’s partner or competitor.

Its great to see Matthew Lillard’s stock as an actor on the rise again. It could not have been easy for him not to appear in major movies, but Trouble with the Curve could just be the movie that makes him a big name star.
