Kiefer Sutherland & Bruce Willis Being Sought As Fantastic Four’s The Thing?
Just the other day we reported a story that had Adrien Brody and Alice Eve as part of casting rumors for the upcoming future Fantastic Four reboot film. What we didn’t report is that in this new incarnation of the Marvel comic book, The Thing will be entirely CGI. So with that, the studio needs a good voice to go with that incarnation of the character.
Despite there being actors in talks for the five key roles (Stephen Moyer is in talks for Dr. Doom), we know of this thus far: none will be confirmed before a director signs on. Comic Book Movie reported earlier today that Fox is pursuing Bruce Willis to play Ben Grimm and that Kiefer Sutherland is also in the running.
So who is it: John McClane or Jack Bauer? Either one sounds good to me. I am just curious to see how this movie is going to differ from Tim Story’s films. I mean, from what I am seeing in casting approach, it’s just trying to get similar actors in the same roles, but perhaps with slightly more talent and marketing presence than the previous films. Michael Chiklis is no Sutherland or Willis and Ian Gruffold is no Adrien Brody, but other than that, what will be different from this story?
I just hope they use as much as they can from the Ultimate Fantastic Four books, which is a lot more character-driven and interesting and different enough to make it worthy of a reboot.
