Blake Lively and Scarlett Johansson Compete Over Cuaron’s Gravity

The other day we wrote that Scarlett Johansson was going to star in a film with Vince Vaughn called Old St. Louis, and that is might conflict with her once-thought nabbed role in Alfonso Cuaron’s Gravity.

Well, it turns out that Johansson was never set to replace Angelina Jolie in the project to begin with, and now, according to Heat Vision, she and Blake Lively are both eyeing the role of the title character in Warner Bros.’ outer space thriller. Gravity currently only has Robert Downey Jr. attached to the project.

According to the trade during the past two weeks, Johansson and Lively have tested for the lead role of a female astronaut who gets lost in space. A decision is expected within the next week or two to be made on either of them. Both ladies are no strangers to the fanboy world, as they are showing up in Marvel and DC projects. If Johansson gets the role, it will be the second of three films that will star her and Downey (Iron Man 2 and Avengers being the others). Lively is currently co-starring with Johansson’s husband, Ryan Reynolds, in DC Entertainment’s The Green Lantern.

So who wins the role in Cuaron’s film? Lively’s Carol Ferris (Sapphire) or Johansson’s Natasha Romanov (Black Widow)?

I am thinking Johansson will nab it. Any takers?

They should hire Angelina for this, neither Scarlett or Lively are as good

They did hire Angelina for this role but she left the project because she wasn't going to get her $20 million dollar asking price to be in the film. I think Scarlett is the better choice in this role and easier on the eyes.
