Aaron Johnson and Anton Yelchin Now Being Considered for Spider-man Role

I actually saw this coming back when I saw Kick-Ass! that Aaron Johnson could be considered for the role of Spider-man/Peter Parker in the upcoming reboot from Marc Webb and Sony. Do I think it will happen? probably not I do not see a studio executive wanting to have the new face of Spider-man saying dirty words and bloody up people in an R-rated version of basically Spider-man himself. Even though Johnson would be a favorite The Los Angeles Times, reports the true short list that is locked for the studio right now and it is much different than the one we reported about last month.

Besides Johnson’s addition to the shortlist the site reports that Anton Yelchin is being heavily looked at as well. Yelchin is definitely a great choice in my opinion as I think he is an outstanding young actor. The site reports that screen testing is expected to begin shortly on the short list of actors and an announcement will be made shortly after that. I would assume at SDCC we’ll get an announcement or an unveiling of sorts, who knows at this point.

Marce Webb has been canvasing a wide range of young actors for the role and will certainly anoint someone he feels is sort of the anti-Tobey McGuire.
