Logan Lerman Not In the Running For New Spider-man Role?
When Sony announced that they were rebooting the Spider-man franchise with Marc Webb to direct the only name thrown out for consideration to play the role of Peter Parker/Spider-man was Percy Jackson star Logan Lerman. It seems we (every news source imaginable that printed the story) were mistaken and that he is not being considered for the role of Spider-man. Whats funny is the quotes came from the young actor himself.
Our friends over at MovieWeb say that Sony alerted them early today that no one has been offered the job, no negotiations were in place with any actor. Which might come as a surprise to Lerman, who has talked about taking on the role in various recent interviews. The site also reports that Angus T. Jones, who currently stars on Two and a Half Men was mentioned but they weren’t sure if he was a joke or not.
I was sold on Lerman when he was first mentioned and having seen him in Percy Jackson he has the qualities to make a good Peter Parker for the type of Spider-man film they are going for and Jones is definitely not a good choice. I am going to say that Sony said they were not going push back Raimi’s fourth film only to cancel its development. So take what they say with a grain of salt.
