Sam Mendes To Direct Bond 23

Well this is the biggest news of 2010, since we are only a few days into the new year. Just a day after many thought the next Bond film would be put on hold it seems that wasn’t true and now it seems that Sam Mendes will direct the next installment of Bond.

This is the first big name director to film a Bond movie since Campbell’s return for Casino Royale. Mendes known for films like Away We Go, American Beauty and Road to Perdition will certainly bring something unique to Bond especially with Peter Morgan’s writing this next Bond may have been worth the wait.

The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision Blog reported the news this afternoon. Now the film will potentially start as early as June, targeting a 2011 release. We’ll be sure to keep you posted on all the news surrounding Bond 23 as soon as more information comes in.

I do not know about you but I am super excited about the next installment of James Bond.
