Cowboys and Aliens Starts Shooting This July?
The Daily Beast recently ran an article discussing Avatar and 3D seemed to indicate that the film adaptation of the comic book Cowboys & Aliens starts shooting this July.
“The Avatar factor could make the difference on Cowboys & Aliens, a Dreamwork project to be directed by Jon Favreau that starts shooting in July. (Plot line: Settlers and Indians put aside their differences when a spaceship crash-lands in their town.)”
Jon Favreau is directing the film which was written by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Damon Lindelof. The film will also star Robert Downey Jr. in the lead role as a Zeke Jackson, a former Union Army gunslinger. Settlers and Native Americans wage a bloody battle for control of the land. But when the Earth is threatened by conquerors from the stars, these sworn enemies must work together to save all humanity. Brian Grazer and Ron Howard are producing the film. So there is a really awesome epic team of people behind this adaptation so I am glad its happening soon.
I would speculate that the film is being considered to be filmed in 3D. The first draft of the screenplay was co-written by Iron Man writers Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby.
