Zombieland Writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick to Script Deadpool
One of Hollywood’s most sought after writing duo’s is the team of Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. Both writers brought to life the zany horror-comedy, Zombieland. CHUD now says the screenwriters are rumored to be writing the upcoming Deadpool film for Marvel Studios and 20th Century Fox.
Both writers were rumored to be scripting the Venom spin-off movie for Sony but that ended up being handed over to Gary Ross for developing. I am glad the duo is getting to do a comic book film afterall as they both grew up fans of comics.
I have to say to that there comedic tones mixed with the action would be perfect for a Deadpool movie. The wit and comedic lines written and outlined by them would work perfectly for Reynolds to build off of in the shooting of the character. Deadpool is the “Merc With a Mouth.”
I hope they put a part in the film for Bill Murray and Woody Harrellson. Reese and Wernick are also working on a sequel to Zombieland that will be in 3D.
