Untitled Jack Ryan Film Details Surface

Producer Mace Neufield, who is developing the new Jack Ryan film, was on hand at the press conference for the upcoming film Clint Eastwood film, Invictus. There he also spoke about the Untitled Jack Ryan Project as well and revealed that,”We pick him up while he’s on Wall Street,” and while Neufield wouldn’t go into too many specifics on the main story he did outline how they would handle and approach the infamous character.

“The Jack Ryan movies have never been action films. They’re kind of ‘thinking man’s thrillers’. Jack is refered to as a water-walker because of his ability to jump ahead to a conclusion. That’s very big in all the Jack Ryan films and that’s why we want to portray him. He’s a teacher, he’s a historian. He’s a linguist and he’s really smart.”

Neufield revealed that Hossein Amini wrote the script with Adam Cozad in the midst of a rewrite. Its already been announced that Star Trek’s Chris Pine will take on the mantle of this character, but after handling Kirk, Clancy’s Ryan should be no problem.
