Other Notes: Opening Music Heard on this podcast is from Jump Back Jake off their Brooklyn Hustle, Memphis Muscle Album. Song played was “X-Mas Time” You can download that album in Itunes or get it on Amazon. Jump Back Jake stands out because they offer not just a rehashing of an old sound but a complex melding of a diverse range. In just one album, you can pick out elements of blues, ska, classic rock, gospel, country, 90s alternative, jazz, punk, Southern rock, and funk. Closing music is from Star and Micey from their debut, self titled album. Song played was “Quicksand”. A blend of Memphis soul, lo-fi indie rock and singer-songwriter introspection. Lead man, Cosby’s wide-eyed optimism shines through like chips of ice flecking a windowpane in the deep still of winter.
