Terry Gilliam Wants Robert Duvall to Star in The Man Who Killed Don Quixote
Terry Gilliam while doing the press tour for his upcoming The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, and revealed that he’d found the right man to play Don Quijote de la Mancha in his long gestating, often delayed fantasy film The Man Who Killed Don Quixote. Gilliam has long tried to get this story off the ground in the Lost in La Mancha documentary we see his first attempt to capture it all on film with Johnny Depp, an attempt that failed.
Today, while attending the Crazy Heart press junket,Collider discovered who the mystery actor is. And it’s none other than the iconic Robert Duvall. You can visit Collider for more on the story.
Terry Gilliam doesn’t have a set start date for this second pass at what could be a quite legendary film. I wasn’t excited about Doctor Parnassus until the other day when I watch the trailer again and I realized that I wanted to see it. I have been hearing about the Don Quixote project for years and its now very cool to see it may be making ways. I also love the idea of Duvall as the character.

Wait until my girlfriend gets home and I tell her favorite living movie star may be in the next Gilliam flick.
Her head might just explode!
