J.J. Abrams’ NBC pilot Undercovers, has Boris Kodjoe set to star as the male.
Undercovers is described as a mix between Mr. & Mrs. Smith and The Bourne Identity and revolves around spouses Samantha and Steven (Kodjoe) Bloom, who work together as spies.
Gerald McRaney has also been tapped to play a role in the project as the couple’s CIA boss. The role of Samantha is yet to be cast. Abrams is considering directing the Warner Bros. TV-produced pilot, which he co-wrote with Josh Reims.
Many believe that Kodjoe is a bold choice for a leading man on a network that has stuck predominantly with Caucasian leads. Kodjoe was recently seen in the late summer techno thriller, Surrogates with Bruce Willis.
