First Look At Eagle of the Ninth With Six Photos Featuring Channing Tatum
Thanks to Yahoo we’ve got our first look at six new photos from Eagle of the Ninth, a new film starring Channing Tatum that is being directed by Kevin Macdonald (State of Play, Last King of Scotland). The film is based of the novel from Rosemary Sutcliff with the same name. Along with Tatum the film also stars Jamie Bell, Donald Sutherland, Denis O’Hare, and Mark Strong. Jeremy Brock penned the script for the film which is set in the second century AD and tells of a young Roman officer’s search to discover the truth about the disappearance of his father’s legion, The Ninth Legion, in the north of Britain and find their golden emblem.
“In 140 AD, twenty years after the unexplained disappearance of the entire Ninth Legion in the mountains of Scotland, young centurion Marcus Aquila (Tatum) arrives from Rome to solve the mystery and restore the reputation of his father, the commander of the Ninth. Accompanied only by his British slave Esca (Bell), Marcus sets out across Hadrian’s Wall into the uncharted highlands of Caledonia – to confront its savage tribes, make peace with his father’s memory, and retrieve the lost legion’s golden emblem, the Eagle of the Ninth.”
