Kiera Knightley, Christoph Waltz, Michael Fassbender Sign On for Cronenberg’s The Talking Cure

David Cronenberg’s new film, The Cure is moving along quickly. Cronenberg who brought us classics like The Fly remake and Videodrome has a new trio of stars for his latest endeavor. The Playlist discovered that Australian film company Hopscotch Films made an announcement on its Facebook page that Keira Knightley, and Inglourious Basterds actors Christoph Waltz and Michael Fassbender have signed on to star in The Cure.
The company was making the announcement on the acquisition of the film, which will be directed by Cronenberg and the Hopscotch page released a brief synopsis of the film as well.
“A beautiful young woman, driven mad by her past. An ambitious doctor on a mission to succeed. An esteemed mentor with a revolutionary cure. Let the mind games begin…”
The film was first announced in 2007, based off Christopher Hampton’s play of the same name. His play revolved around pioneering psychoanalysts Carl Jung and Sigmund Freud and their unique relationships with patient Sabina Spielrein.
