Robert Pattinson and Nicole Kidman to Star in Bel Ami
The two leads for the upcoming British film, Bel Ami, have been found and though they are from two very different ends of the Hollywood spectrum, both are riveted with star power. According to Screen Daily, Nicole Kidman will team up with Twilight star Robert Pattinson for Bel Ami. The film’s premise centers around a man (Pattinson) in 1890s Paris who ascends to the top of high society by sleeping with the most elite and powerful women in the city.
The film is an adaptation of the Guy De Maupassant novel, being directed by acclaimed British theater directors Declan Donnellan and Nick Ormerod from a script by Rachel Bennette. Production will begin in February 2010, with filming to take place in both London and Budapest.
I think I saw this movie with Heath Ledger that was very similar and it was called Casanova. Pattinson is a huge star right now, I can’t see why, I saw him at Comic-Con and he is just a big dufus. He acts like he has been hitting the bong all the time and everything about him is just annoying. Kidman is sort of not on my list of actresses I rush to go see but ever since she escaped the wrath of the crazy Tom Cruise I have found her more likeable and I do not think anyone can say she is a bad actress. One day she will have as many Oscar noms as Meryl Streep, which it seems like she is nominated every year for something.
