First Look At The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the DawnTreader Production Stills
It has been awhile since we had some Narnia news but now we got some really cool production stills from Fox Walden, who is now the studio behind the series. Originally Disney held the Narnia franchise as a co-production with the Walden Media but they decided to dump the series after a mediocre performance from Prince Caspian. FoxWalden, who does a majority of the Walden Media films jumped at the chance to continue the franchise.
The movie will be release on May 7, 2010 and that is something I just do not agree with and believe is what hurt the last release for Disney. Though these are traditionally beloved books globally, I feel these are movies that serve better for winter releases because of the fantasy nature of the films but also the family market it can attract better during the holidays rather than trying to compete with the heavy duty blockbuster movies in early May.
Fox Walden needs to market this film very well if they want to make some bucks and they need to start here in December to get everyone aware of the movie and what we can anticipate.
The film stars Ben Barnes, reprising his role as Prince Caspian, Skandar Keynes and Georgie Henley also return as 2 of the 4 Pevensie children, Edmund and Lucy. New to the cast is Will Poulter as Eustace Scrubb, cousin to the Pevensies who joins them on their adventure. The film is being directed by British director, Michael Apted.
Lucy and Edmund Pevensie return to Narnia with their cousin Eustace where they meet up with Prince Caspian for a trip across the sea aboard the royal ship The Dawn Treader. Along the way they encounter dragons, dwarves, merfolk, and a band of lost warriors before reaching the edge of the world.
