TV News: Daniel Jackson to Play Hawkman in Smallville! Michael Shanks Joins Cast!
Smallville is about to get a dose of justice from a beloved genre actor. According to IGN TV, Michael Shanks, also known as Daniel Jackson from years of appearing on the Stargate SG-1, will appear in an episode of Smallville, which will feature the Justice Society.
It was said that three of the Justice Society members would appear in this episode and the site confirmed that Shanks was to play Hawkman. They also confirmed Doctor Fate would be the second Justice Society member appearing, to be played by Brett Stait from Andromeda fame.
The episode will be written by comic book writer Geoff Johns, who essentially revealed that the third member would be Stargirl. The site’s story was updated with a story from Fancast, who confirmed Stargirl and that Britt Irvin (Aliens in America) would be playing her. The site also reported that the episode, entitled Society, which was said to air sometime in January 2010.
Legion appeared last year in the super series, and now the Justice Society, sounds like a lot of fun. I am a huge fan of Stargate and Shanks who is one of the best genre actors out there also appearing in the likes of 24 and Burn Notice.
