After Valkyrie did so well everyone was looking for the next Tom Cruise vehicle and after being courted by many projects he settled on one un-officially titled Wichita. Now that project has an official name in the vein of Knight and Day.

Cruise plays a man of mystery who links up with Diaz. They become fugitives, there are betrayals and shifting alliances all around them, and they must figure out whether to be guided by truth or trust. The film is described as an action-comedy and also stars Peter Sarsgaard, Viola Davis, Olivier Martinez, Paul Dano, Maggie Grace and Mark Blucas to star with Cruise and Cameron Diaz in the James Mangold-directed film for Fox.

Cruise was originally set to star in the film Motorcade but left the project and was replaced by Ryan Reynolds. He has also been attached to The Matarese Circle, set during the Cold War, the book pairs rival spies, one from the CIA and the other from the KGB, who bury the hatchet for the moment because only they possess the smarts and killing abilities to go up against an international circle of killers called the Matarese. Lastly he has been attached to The Tourist, a remake of the 2005 French film written and directed by Jerome Salle. Thriller concerns an American tourist who finds his life in danger when a female Interpol agent uses him as a dupe to flush out an elusive criminal with whom she once had an affair. In addition to this cruise is up for the romantic comedy Lost for Words from Working Title and Universal as well asThe Hardy Men.

Splash News has posted a new set of images of Cameron Diaz on the set of the film which is set for a July 2, 2010 release.
