Steve Carrell Set to Hit Course for Golf Comedy Missing Links
Steve Carell is set to tee off in a golfing comedy based off the novel by ESPN writer, Rick Reilly. While I do love the crew from the Apatow world and the Will Ferrell world, the sports comedies are wearing thin. Will Ferrell has now giving his pal Carrell a chance to try a sports comedy.
The film is based off the 1997 comedy novel by sportswriter Reilly, which follows the comedic escapades of four golfing buddies who tire of golfing at shoddy public course and hatch a series of plots to try and golf at a high-class country club.
The cool part of the news is that Jay Lavender (The Break-Up) will adapt Reilly’s novel for the big screen. I loved the Break-Up and its wit and change of pace in the romantic comedy formula. No production schedule was announced for the film.
This is a film that fits the buddy comedies popular now, i.e The Hangover, I Love You, Man.
