I still recall how good Don Stroud was as Captain Chambers in the old Mike Hammer series and as Captain Lussen in The New Dragnet. He was born and lives in Hawaii so he'd be easy to cast. Even though he is over 60 now I think he'd be great in a regular role in the new Hawaii Five-0. Stroud is the quintessential tough guy and always compelling to watch. Gravel in the gut and spit in the eye. He played memorable heavies in Licence to Kill, Coogan's Bluff, Joe Kidd, and Madigan. He actually had billing above Robert DeNiro as Herman Barker in Bloody Mama in 1970. I hear he is in great shape and could do any role.
