Peter Berg No Longer to Direct the Dune Remake
It seems that an anticipated remake has hit a stumbling block in the director’s chair, it seems that Peter Berg will no longer be directing the remake of Dune which has been confirmed by CHUD.
Another site called Pajiba reports that the remake still is in the works, with Josh Zetumer writing the film and Paramount is searching for a new director. The site mentioned that directors Neil Marshall and Neill Blomkamp are being held into high consideration to take over the project. It was also reported that heartthrob actor Robert Pattinson was in talks to star, but those talks were with the recently-departed Berg, and it’s unclear if he still might join the project.
Well when i first heard the story I was a little miffed because I thought Berg would have a unique vision to retell the story but then I see Blomkamp mentioned and I am now instantly excited. Now that excitement waned quickly with the mere mention of that loser Robert Pattinson’s name. That being said i have never been a huge fan of Dune only because the first incarnation I have seen was okay, a little weird and the other one was poorly done.
I would love to see Blomkamp direct this remake as he would be sure to make it right and give a unique vision.
