Paul Blart’s Steve Carr To Direct Short Circuit Remake
Alas not that this remake had much hopes with me it is has further turned itself into something that makes the 7 year old me cringe. Apparently the guy who directed the crapfest that was Paul Blart is going be directing the remake of Short Circuit.
According to Variety, the reboot is being scripted by Dan Milano (Robot Chicken), and will bring the iconic Johnny 5 robot into the 21st century. In the film 5 is built by the military to be a highly sophisticated weapon, he then develops a conscience and personality after being hit by lightning. He befriends a lonely boy and his fractured family.
Didn’t they remake Johnny 5 with the Wall-E movie? I see this movie as a reboot more than a remake. In the original film Johnny 5 makes friends with Stephanie (Ally Sheedy) and protects her while the military and his creators try to find him to correct problem realizing his AI is evolving not broken, which in itself has potential for a horror film but in this case the reboot sounds more like Johnny 5 – E.T. style.
