The Green Hornet Has Replaced Cage with a Basterd! Christopher Waltz to Play Villian
Deadline Hollywood has announced today that one of the top actors from this summer, Christoph Waltz, known for his portrayal of Col. Hans Landa in Quentin Tarantino’s Inglorious Basterds has been signed on to play the villain Chudnofsky in the upcoming film adaption of The Green Hornet starring Seth Rogen.
Waltz has yet to make any comment on his new role. Production onThe Green Hornet began 2 weeks ago and is being directed by Michel Gondry. Nicolas Cage was originally cast in the role before he left the project to pursue another opportunity. I think this is the best casting the film has made since getting Stephen Chow. Now Chow is gone but Waltz brings a great talent to the film in my opinion as he was so awesome in Basterds. This is actually a win as he is a better talent than Cage by far.
I was expecting him to be in more Hollywood films after his performance garnered a lot of attention with American audiences and critics. The Green Hornet has sort of revived itself in my eyes after its muscial chairs casting and multiple delays.
