Peter Berg Tells Us Will Smith and Charlize Theron Will Return for Hancock 2
So the Hancock 2 train keeps rolling as 2 writers were announced a few weeks ago, just after Peter Berg expressed interest in venturing into the next installment of the character, now we are hearing that Will Smith, Charlize Theron and Jason Bateman will return.
Peter Berg confirmed with MTV SplashPage that all the main actors from the first film will return for the sequel. ”Everybody’s going to come back for a sequel,” Berg said. The director also revealed that there is a third heroic character that is going to be introduced in the sequel.
Apparently the director has an big-name actor in mind, but he isn’t revealing who just yet. “We have [someone in mind],” Berg said. “I’m not gonna tell you who, but we have!”
When Berg talked about returning he mentioned that he wanted to expand upon the godlike backstory of the two main characters he mentioned that “There might be another god out there.” Berg also hopes to have the subplot of Jason Bateman’s character carried throughout the new film, with him continuing to work on his charity campaign.
What would be cool in my opinion would be the guy is realy superpowered like The Flash or something but he is not a god or alien or anything crazy, just someone who was caught in an accident.
Anyway I am not jumping up and down waiting for a Hancock 2 but the continutation is somewhat interesting and I am curious to see what they come up with. As far Berg confirming everyone, thats always a good sign when everyone wants to come back but we will wait for some official word from their people too, not that we do not trust the good word of Mr. Berg.
There is no release date or production date set for the film yet but Berg will direct and the current draft of the script is being written by Adam Fierro and Glen Mazzara.
