Now according to Variety, Columbia and Fincher have officially cast Eisenberg and Timberlake in the The Social Network.
The film’s script was written by Aaron Sorkin (The West Wing, A Few Good Men, The American President). The film will examine the formation and phenomenon that is Facebook. The script will also focus on “how overnight success and wealth changed the lives of the classmates who created it.” The film is loosely based off the book The Accidental Billionaires written by Ben Mezrich which chronicled the story of how Mark Zuckerberg, who created Facebook in his dorm room at Harvard.
Eisenberg will play Mark Zuckerberg; whereas Timberlake is going to play Sean Parker, the Napster co-founder who also became Facebook’s founding president; also Andrew Garfield will play the role of Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin who fell out with Zuckerberg over money.
