New Couples Retreat Quad Poster Surfaces
Based on an original idea of Vaughn’s, this new comedy follows four Midwestern couples who embark on a journey to a tropical island resort. While one of the couples is there to work on their marriage, the other three set out to jet ski, spa and enjoy some fun in the sun. They soon discover that participation in the resort’s couples therapy is not optional. Suddenly, their group-rate vacation comes at a price. What follows is a hilarious look at the real world problems faced by all couples.

The poster looks cool but I can’t help but mention the fact that Faizon Love and his couple partner played by Tasha Smith are nowhere to be seen in the poster. The obvious tells me that they are not marketing this film heavily to their demographic, that being said I feel like there presence in the film is merely a way to have that appeal if they want it, the “token black couple” as they say these days. I know reading into it and I do not care that much just thought it was worth mentioning being that this picture is sort of a non-story.
