Mickey Rourke is the Ice Man Cometh!

The New York Post is is reporting that a film that has taken awhile to get itself off the ground, The Ice Man, has found its star, Mickey Rourke.

The film will be based off the book of the same name by Phil Carlo, which recounts the tale of Richard Kuklinski, a hitman for the mafia who murdered more than 200 people. Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura originally had secured the rights to Carlo’s book, but the option expired in August when di Bonaventura wanted Channing Tatum to play Kuklinski, and Carlo disagreed. Rourke then met with Carlo and the pair immediately clicked.

i just want to know what it is about Rourke playing some sort of Russian or baddie all because he played a broke down Wrestler whose life mirrored his own. I mean lets be honest folks he isn’t the best actor in the world I think that there is other people better for this role but sure lets ride the Rourke wagon.

“I think Mickey Rourke would really be good. He’s got that sense of danger . . . But it’s not Channing Tatum.”

That was a line from the article, two names never that should be in the same sentence, Channing Tatum and Mickey Rourke. i have no clue what that means in that quote but whatever. I also disagree Mickey Rourke doesn’t have that sense of danger to me.

Nick Nolte looks VERY Similar to kuklinski and maybe AS Tall as him....Nolte or Lee Marvin(if he were still around)would be more suitable.Rourke COULD be good if he plays it subtle, which WAS the scary thing about kuklinski.

i also dont think rourke is right for the part. Having read the book several times and looked at the photos i think sopranos actor James Galdofini would be perfect for the role.
