Jessica Alba to Join Universal’s Little Fockers

So someone new will be joining the cast of the third installment of the Focker franchise at Universal. Jessica Alba it seems is in negotiations on joining the cast of Little Fockers.

Alba would portray a pharmacuetical rep whose beauty makes all of the films male characters smitten with her. Paul Weitz is directing the third installment with longtime franchise writer John Hamburg writing the script for this third film. A 2010 release date is being eyed up for the film.

I have been expressing my dismay for this project with the argument that they have said all they needed to say with this franchise and the third one in my opinion will not do anything new. Not to mention actors tend to go through the motions their third time around in films like this. Ben Stiller went through the motions in second Museum flick which was not good at all. Jessica Alba’s character’s hotness making guys woo over her is silly and just furthers my argument for this movie not needing to be made.

Alba though does bring in the dudes so I guess that is what Universal wants with this being more of a family comedy. Alba is set to star in the Robert Rodriguez thriller Machete for Sony as well as Garry Marshall’s romantic comedy Valentine’s Day for New Line.
