D23 Expo: Disney Set for Cheapest Muppet Movie Ever Made
Our friend StitchKingdom on Twitter as well as our sources at the Expo tell us that the official title for the next Muppet film will in fact be The Cheapest Muppet Movie Ever Made.
Sounds like a great title as it fits with the first film The Muppet Movie. One can speculate that the film will revolve around Jason Segal and the Muppets trying to get a film made, cheaply.
It wasn’t clear when the film would be produced, or directed by Segal but it was said that comedic actor/writer Segel would write the film. I hope that he gets to produce and direct and star.
Segel is best known for his work on the TV series How I Met Your Mother, and for displaying his puppeteering skills in the film Forgetting Sarah Marshall, where he pitched the idea for the film to Jim Henson Co. Segal also appeared on an episode of the Jimmy Fallon show and there he talked about the project and then got heckled by Staddorf and Waldorf.
We’ll be sure to keep you posted on any new developments regarding The Cheapest Muppet Movie Ever Made.
