Warner Brothers Set for Futuristic Robin Hood
Now this story made me laugh a little bit because I shit you not I had this exact idea almost 5 years ago. That being said Warner Brothers is set to make a futuristic version of the classic Robin Hood story. Risky Biz Blog reports it is being set up by producers of The Dark Knight and 300 as well as Warner Bros.
Charles Roven and Richard Suckle from Atlas Entertainment and Gianni Nunnari from Hollywood Gang are set to produce the untitled film, while commercial director Nicolai Fuglsig, who pitched the project, has signed on to direct with Jason Hall writing the screenplay.
it will be set in a dystopian London and center on a band of thieves whose activities restore hope to the city’s embattled population. Producers describe it as “a futuristic action adventure” that will be “both inspired by and pay homage to the legend of Robin Hood.”
This an interesting idea and I am really not kidding when I say I had this idea after seeing Batman Begins and thought about using the same model it used but with Robin Hood. One of my favorite shows, Leverage, is sort of a high tech Robin Hood theme. I am interested to see what Hall comes up with. We’ll keep an eye on this for everyone.
