Michael Davis Set for Outland Remake
Michael Davis, director of Shoot ‘Em Up, has signed on to direct Outland, a remake of the 1981 Sean Connery sci-fi film for Warner Bros. and Hollywood Gang Prods.
Chad St. John is writing the drama that revolves around a police marshal stationed at a remote mining colony on Jupiter’s moon Io, where he uncovers a murderous conspiracy threatening the entire Outland.
“We loved the original sci-fi film with Sean Connery,” Nunnari said. “At its core, Outland is a version of High Noon in outer space, as two courageous people take a stand against a gang of ruthless conspirators at the highest level.”
I never saw this film in its full capacity but may need to watch the whole thing for a Friday Classic. Davis had a great visual style for Shoot ‘Em Up and I even think his star from that film Clive Owen would be perfect for this movie which is basically a western in space and with that visual style combined with a better not so drawn out story than the original I am down.
