Cool First Poster for Solomon Kane

The first poster has been released for the upcoming  Solomon Kane, starring James Purefoy and based on the story written by Robert E. Howard (Conan the Barbarian) in 1928. They premiered some footage at Comic-Con and like Kick-Ass! this is ptobably the second bit of stuff I wish I hadn’t missed from the con.

The film is written and directed by Michael J. Bassett and also stars Max von Sydow, Pete Postlethwaite, Rachel Hurd-Wood, Alice Krige and Mackenzie Crook. The film is set to debut at the Toronto Film Festival in September.

“Solomon Kane is a fictional character created by the pulp-era writer Robert E. Howard. A 17th century Puritan, Solomon Kane is a somber-looking man who wanders the world with no apparent goal other than to vanquish evil in all its forms. His adventures, published mostly in the pulp magazine Weird Tales, often take him from Europe to the jungles of Africa and back.”
