Below the Fold: Green Hornet Release Pushed, Predators Location Scouting, Dr. Parnassus Premiere Christmas, Nic Cage Driving Angry, Baldoni Set for Minkow

Green Hornet Release Date Pushed

Box Office Mojo is reporting that the premiere date of Seth Rogen’s The Green Hornet has been pushed 5 months to December 17, 2010 from its original date of July 7, 2010.

HitFix.com spoke with Rogen who said that he and his creative partners Evan Goldberg and Michel Gondry are

“relieved and psyched about the change. It gives more time for post, which would have been immensely rushed if we were to come out in the summer. It also affords us more time to promote the film, (now we can go to Comic-Con with more than a car!) and ultimately is a great vote of confidence from the studio. We got the same date that movies like I Am Legend and Avatar are getting, so we’re thrilled to be there.”

Predators Scouting in Hawaii

Tim Ryan’s Reel Hawaii is reporting that the production team behind 20th Century Fox’s Predators is back to the big island of Hawaii scouting its jungles for potential filming locations for the creature sequel, directed by Nimrod Antal.

The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus to Premiere Christmas Day

Sony Pictures Classics is planning a Christmas Day release for Terry Gilliam’s upcoming movie The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, which marks the late Heath Ledger’s final screen performance. The film’s North American premiere will be at the Toronto Film Festivel on September 18 and be released in the UK on October 16.

Nic Cage Set for Drive Angry

Nicolas Cage is set to star in Drive Angry, a 3D revenge action film that Patrick Lussier is directing for Nu Image/Millenium Films. The film was written by Lussier and Todd Farmer, and centers on a man (Cage) driven by rage who is chasing the people who killed his daughter and kidnapped her baby. The vendetta/rescue spins out of control as the chase gets bloodier by the mile, leaving bodies strewn along the highway. [Source: Empire]

Barry Minkow Biopic Set with Justin Baldoni to Star

Justin Baldoni is joining James Caan, Armand Assante, Mark Hamill and Ving Rhames as the title character in the real-life story of Barry Minkow, a film about the bizarre story of a teenage entrepreneur running a successful carpet company, ZZZZ Best, who gets busted for running a Ponzi scheme. After experiencing a religious conversion in prison, Minkow becomes a pastor doing anti-fraud work with the FBI. [Source: THR]
