Xavier Samuel Joins Twilight Saga’s Eclipse
Earlier this week Tom Felton was rumored to be taking a role in the third installment of the Twilight Saga – Eclipse. The rumored role was that of Riley, a “new born” vamire that becomes a lacky to Victoria. It seems the rumored role for Felton has now been snatched up by Australian actor, Xavier Samuel.
The Risky Biz Blog has revealed that Summit Entertainment has hired Samuel to play the role of a “newborn vampire” named Riley, a good-looking college student who joins the plot of villain Victoria to murder protagonist Bella (Kristen Stewart). Riley is corrupted by Victoria, for whom he has an inexplicable weakness.
The movie’s larger plot centers on a choice Bella must make between the werewolf Jacob (Taylor Lautner) and the vampire Edward (Robert Pattinson).
The third movie in the franchise will open in theaters June 30, 2010, while the second film The Twilight Saga’s New Moon, will open in theaters November 20th, 2009.
I wonder if Felton is still being sought for a role in the series whether it be the third film or the fourth. I guess we know now that Riley isn’t the character but maybe its another one. We shall keep our ears to the ground because there is just something intriguing about another Harry Potter/Twilight actor cross-over.
