Vanessa Hudgens to Be Nude in Zack Snyder’s Sucker Punch

Now the former Disney actress and High School Musical star, Vanessa Hudgens who is dating Zack Efron, is no stranger to showing off her features as an internet scandal a while back had images of her naked in a college dorm all over the world wide web. Now she suggests she’s ready to leave behind her goody-two-shoes High School Musical image behind. The star says she will strip naked in the new film from Zack Snyder, Sucker Punch.

‘I’m playing a character named Blondie and it’s set in a brothel in the 1950s, so there’s not a whole lot of clothes.’ It’s set in a brothel in the 1950s, so there’s not a whole lot of clothes. ‘It’ll be gun training, stunts, fighting and all that craziness. I can’t wait. I’m so excited. I’ve wanted to do an action film for a while.’ ‘I think this is my time to really step it up and get to grow up. It will be somewhat different with the content and a few more foul words but that’s the biggest difference.’

Filmmaker Zack Snyder is known for his ability to bring a visionary epic to screen whether it be with 300 or Watchmen. Something else his movies of late have in common is nothing short of human nudity whether it be a giant blue member from Dr. Manhattan or scandalously clad skin from Greek trophy wives.

In Snyder’s follow-up to Watchmen he will be making an original film called Sucker Punch, starring Hudgens, Jamie Chung, Jena Malone, Emily Browning and Abbie Cornish.

Set in the 1950s, Sucker Punch centers on a girl confined to a mental institution by her evil stepfather, who intends to have her lobotomized in five days. While there, she imagines an alternate reality to hide from the pain and in that world begins planning her escape, needing to steal five objects to help get her out.

Why is it that these young actresses who have used Disney to spring a career feel the need to shed their clothes to erase that label? Recently Hayden Panettiere shed some skin for some side boob shots in the I Love You, Beth Cooper comedy. I personally do not care about Hudgens getting all naked and stuff as I am sure it will be tasteful and her father will be proud but the story to me is why do these actresses feel the need to go nude in order to eliminate the “teen beat” stereotype? Anyway mountain out of a mole hill here but interesting to say the least.
