First Look at Dakota Fanning as Cherie Currie in The Runaways

So we showed you some non-official paparazzi shots of Kristen Stewart sporting her Joan Jett mullet for the upcoming music biopic, The Runaways, a project based on the band featuring Jett and Cherie Currie as the first ever all-girl punk rock group.

Stewart was perfectly cast as Jett containg the small frame along with the mullet who else could play a young Jett without jumping in a Delorean and going back to the late 70s and grabbing the real young Joan Jett. The casting decision I was worried about was Dakota Fanning being cast as Stewart’s co-star and bandmate Cherie Currie, the young 15 year-old lead singer of the group. Fanning also 15 had the age in common but could she pull off the look? That was my questions and with out a doubt we see she can.

Just Jared had some pics of Fanning as well some more from Stewart this time on the set of the film. If you are wondering who is playing everyone else in the band, wonder no more. Halloween star Scout Taylor-Compton was recently cast in The Runaways as lead guitarist Lita Ford. Stella Maeve will play drummer Sandy West and actress Alia Shawkat will play a fictional bass player named Robin.The script for the this film has a lot of buzz and the project itself is carrying that buzz too. I probably will be keeping a good amount of tabs on this project until it hits theaters.
