British Buzz: Beckham On Sex and The City 2, Potter Cast Praises Pattinson, Set Footage From The Runaways

So I am checking everyone in with our British Brother site FilmShaft.com which had some really interesting stories this Monday that definitely lay on the “British Buzz” that always tickles our fancy state side and we figured we’d give you the skivvy as part of our newly fangled partnership. As always FilmShaft brings us the latest film and TV news from the British perspective.

A UK based film news site reporting on the many goings on and gossip within fanboy film productions. With so many high quality American film news sites, like Fused Film, and so few UK based ones, it’s easy to forget from time to time that us Brits like the odd film every now and again too, hence the strapline “Because Britain Loves Film Too!”

Victoria Beckham Set on Sex and the City 2 Role

Victoria Beckham is intent on a role in upcoming chick flick Sex And The City 2, because she missed out on a cameo in the first Sex And The City movie, according to the Daily Mail.

The glamorous former Spice Girl and wife of footballer/fashion icon David Beckham was offered a cameo role in the first film but was forced to turn it down due to commitments with the Spice Girls reunion tour in 2007. This time around however, Beckham is intent on joining Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon on screen - so much so that she’s already taking acting lessons![...]

Potter Cast Lay On The Pattinson Praise

In another squeaky clean demonstration that the stars of two tent-pole franchises can “be nice”, the cast of Harry Potter have been laying the Robert Pattinson praise on thick and fast these past few weeks.

Pattinson, star of this year’s The Twilight Saga: New Moon and Remember Me (which is currently in production) featured in two of the Harry Potter films alongside Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint.

After playing Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix who would have thought that Pattinson would go on to a super-stardom that the Harry Potter cast can only dream of? In fact, some could say that the Twilight series has successfully knocked the Potter franchise off of the top spot to become the most adored teen series of modern times….

“I’ve said probably three words to him in the last three years and that was before Twilight all kicked off,” Radcliffe told Us. “But I wish him well. Hopefully, I’ll see him at some point. He’s bound to turn up at one of these [premieres] at some point.”

Set Footage From The Runaways!

We all know about Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning starring in a little known vampire film called The Twilight Saga: New Moon (seriously it’ll never catch on), but what about their other movie - The Runaways, in which they star alongside Scout Taylor-Compton (Halloween, H2), Alia Shawkat (Bad Mother’s Handbook) and Stella Maeve (Transamerica, Gossip Girl)?

Well we’ve seen snapshots of the cast, but other than that there hasn’t really been anything worth creating a buzz about - until now.

You see a dedicated YouTube user known curiously as watermelonmango1 has somehow managed to wangle herself a visit to the set of the film, based on the popular 70’s band of the same name. As well as sitting through hair and makeup (?!) our fruity friend also got access to a music venue where the present day Runaways were getting ready for an on screen gig.

Check out the video below, and if anyone can tell me who this watermelonmango1 is I’d be very grateful. I’m guessing she’s an extra of sorts, but being a Brit we’re generally kept in the dark about such things. Footage below:
