Amanda Crew Joins Zac Efron in The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud
Amanda Crew has signed on (via CinemaBlend) to star opposite Zac Efron in the supernatural drama, The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud. This is the project that Efron left Footloose for and Crew will be playing the young woman who helps Efron’s character cope with the death of his younger brother. Crew was last seen in the horror film Haunting in Connecticut and the comedy Sex Drive. She is currently 23 years old and was born in Langley, British Columbia in Canada.
The film is based off a book written by former Good Morning America, Executive Producer, Ben Sherwood and centers on a cemetery caretaker Charlie (Efron) who has weekly meetings with his younger brother Sam, whose accidental death he blames on himself. He meets a young woman, Tess (Crew), believed to be missing in a sailing accident and begins a romantic relationship with her but soon wonders if she is an apparition on the way to the next life.
I really like Amanda Crew and it will be interesting to see how the two work together and the chemistry they bring to one another as both parts are very dramatic. The movie seems very mature for both actors as well. I am excited to see how this movie plays out as the book is very good. I wonder who they will get to play Sam the brother of Charlie who is dead.
