Chris Pine is Unstoppable
A while ago we posted a story about Tony Scott’s next project with actor Denzel Washington titled Unstoppable. The film revolves around Washington playing a veteran train engineer who is about to be laid off, with a young engineer set to replace him, when the two must try to stop an unmanned train carrying volatile chemicals before it reaches and destroys a nearby city.
The Hollywood Reporter is now reporting that Chris Pine will be playing the role of the young engineer. Pine’s post Star Trek role has been of much interest to us as he has lobbied for the role of Murdock in Carnahan’s A-Team film and that still may happen, he has also been rumored as being in the running for Hal Jordan/The Green Lantern. He has been besieged by offers since buzz on Star Trek began circulating the town, with his name popping up on the comedy Friends With Enemies. It is a little surprising that we will see the new Kirk in this film next as opposed to the aforementioned ones or something not yet divulged.
Pine is a very talented actor and he wouldn’t do this movie after coming off Star Trek if the script wasn’t good which leads me to the conclusion that it must be better than I expect because the movie sounds too much like Die Hard meets Under Seige 2 but without the terrorists. I simply think the plot sounds uninteresting but the combination of Pine, Washington and Scott may not be bad at all. I will reserve judgement until I see the movie.
