TV News: Chuck Fate Becoming More Clear with Cancellation of NBC’s Life
Good news Chuck fans another NBC show has gotten the axe. The mysterious cop drama Life has been canceled by the Peacock corporation and this gives us a clearer idea as to the fate of Chuck. Discussed in our last Chuck update NBC said the fate of the show would not be announced until after its big advertisers meeting later this month.
According to Entertainment Weekly, NBC has cancelled the series Life and that Chuck, might move to a different date if it is in fact renewed. The network indicated that they wanted to pair Heroes with a new series on Monday nights, so Chuck might be moved to another night, if it is picked up for a third season.
This is why Life getting the guillotine is a good thing because that frees up some schedule space for Chuck to work into when looking for other nights to go. As we have talked about before the show struggled against more heavyweight competition from other networks such on its Monday time slot and we beleive it would have had better ratings had it been on another night.
I still think the show is worth another season and that giving it another chance on another night would be very valuable to the show as well as the advertising. I haven’t heard to many people mention the fact that Subway loves the show and has its name all over the show in product placement and commercials making Chuck a valued advertising vehicle. I hope NBC gives it another night and this news of Life is fairly optimistic for us Chuck lovers.
