TV News: Chuck and Heroes to Share Monday Nights Next Season

NBC is splitting its next TV season into two halves, making good on its promise to rotate shows in and out of time periods throughout the year. 2 shows in particular will be sharing the Monday Night 8pm Eastern Time Slot and that is Chuck and Heroes.

returning Monday night skeins “Heroes” and “Chuck” will now share a Monday at 8 p.m. time slot - with “Heroes” in the fall and “Chuck” in the spring.”

This decision is not only to give the network programming the best possible play due to limited space on but also due to the Winter Olympics that NBC will begin covering in February 2010,  which will carve the year into clean halves for the network.

Thursday is “Must See TV” and somewhat seems like the network may be returning to its comic prime with its 2 hour comedy block that rivals CBS’ Monday Night Comedy block with newcomer laugher, Community, as well as The Office, Parks and Recreation, 30 Rock and Saturday Night Live Weekend Update Thursday.

I do not know if I am okay with NBC keeping Chuck on a Monday night next year even during the mid-season, they will most likely still have to compete with House and Big Bang Theory/How I Met Your Mother, which last year proved to be difficult, even though the second half of the season was better for Chuck than the fall part. I am just concerned that a third season may be the last for Chuck being that NBC will not try to put it on another night. That being said, NBC’s mid-season won’t launch until after the Olympics so March is when will see the premiere of Chuck’s Third Season.
