Martin Scorsese Will Direct Frank Sinatra Biopic

Universal and Mandalay Pictures after a long time spent securing the Frank Sinatra life rights and music rights from Frank Sinatra Enterprises are now getting their Frank Sinatra biopic film they have wanted and they are already touting the talents of none other than Martin Scorsese.

Scorsese will be directing the film on the legendary singer based on a screenplay by Phil Alden Robinso. No word on what areas of Sinatra’s life the film will cover but with Scorsese involved you can be assured that it will have the mob portion of Sinatra’s life covered.

It was no secret that much of Sinatra’s career is owed to his connections with guys like Carlo Gambino, Sam Giancana, Lucky Luciano and Joseph Fischetti. His Mafia ties, his ardent New Deal politics and his friendship with John F. Kennedy, he was a natural target for J. Edgar Hoover’s FBI. However that is one small part to his great life and Scorsese and Robinso will have an interesting time putting together a good film covering so much history of him and the things around him in his fasinating life.
