Bradley Cooper Not Playing ‘Face’ in A-Team? I’m Confused?

Recently we posted a story form IESB who had an ambush interview of sorts with Bradley Cooper during an outing for The Hangover. Cooper was asked about his involvement in Joe Carnahan’s film remake of The A-Team and his supposed casting as the character of Faceman, the actor replied: “That’s out already?”

Cooper then went on to praise Carnahan and what he could do to the A-Team project. Since Chud (via MTV Movie Blog) has actually spoken to the actor in a site down interview and Cooper took the opportunity to talk about the incident and what he meant.

Here’s what Cooper had to say:

“A guy came up to me and asked about the character Faceman in “The A-Team.” I said ‘Oh, that’s out there already?’, but my point was that news about the film is out there. Literally that people knew about Carnahan and the remake, that’s it. I haven’t read a script or met Joe Carnahan.”

So there it is IESB has continued to mislead in the scoop department. Generally a good source for news I have been somewhat disappointed in their reporting as of late one major example is the Chris Pine Green Lantern story. That being said PR pros can be a smart bunch and Cooper could just as easily have been prepped to pull back from his earlier statements until the studio finishes casting and they can make one big announcement. Personally having seen The Hangover and Cooper in some other projects I would love it if he could play Faceman. I think he has a good look to him as well as a beleivable quality playing a physical role but also a ladies man.

As of now no one is official for the film. Chris Pine is rumored to be playing Murdock, while Common is rumored to be playing B.A. Baracus – a story also scooped by IESB, and no one has been mentioned for the role of John “Hannibal” Smith.
