Will Arnett to join Jonah Hex
Jonah Hex just got a whole lot funnier. Will Arnett and Oscar nominee Michael Shannon are joining the cast of Warner Bros. and Legendary’s action Western based on the DC Comics character.
The cast also includes Josh Brolin, John Malkovich and Megan Fox with Jimmy Hayward in the director’s chair. The story revolves around Hex (Brolin), a scarred bounty hunter tracking a voodoo practitioner (Malkovich) who wants to raise an army of the undead to liberate the South.
“Arnett is going to be playing a Union soldier who enlists Hex and is blindsided by the dirty fighting style of his enemies. Apparently the role is will not play to Arnett’s strength (comedy).”
Shannon is going to be playing Doc Cross Williams, the bizarre ringleader of a brutal gladiator circus event
It’s a really good time to be Will Arnett. You can catch him right now in DreamWorks Animation’s hit Monsters vs. Aliens and soon in When In Rome with Kristen Bell and the Jerry Bruckheimer-produced G-Force both from Disney. He’s also one of the voices in Fox’s Sit Down, Shut Up animated series and is working on a 2010 pilot for Fox.
Arrested Development is one of my all-time favorite shows and I have nothing but love for Will Arnett (as well as his wife, the awesome Amy Poehler) so this is great news for me. “Jonah Hex,” seems to be on track to be a great movie.
What do YOU think?
